Still typing…

IMAG0027

IMAG0028

I was photographically captured today at school looking bizarrely serious while merrily typing away, working on an English assignment. Luckily, I’m at a school that doesn’t bat much of an eyelid to an Olivetti Lettera 32; after all, we had spent morning tea listening to an LP of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture in the College common room (tomorrow we’ll be enjoying the Nutcracker suite).

Anyway, just a note to say that I’m alive, well, and, sure as an upcoming piece of assessment, still typing!

  1. Looks like a great place to type. Good music too, and on an LP! Vinyl sounds so much better than the sampled audio of a CD.

    1. There was a very lengthy argument today at lunch about sound quality. The point was finally proven when we played Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of the Moon side by side on vinyl and iPod. Needless to say, there were some analogue converts!

    1. Greetings from Canberra! Can't believe it's nearly been a year since the Intercontinental Type-In... the honorary Hermes Baby, I'm pleased to say, is here and well.

  4. let's see, thin vertical stripes paired with a solid color sportcoat with thin lapels, typewriter and Ray-Bans. Are you sure you aren't going to school in 1983?

    1. If it weren't for the laptop, I think this is entirely possible.

  6. Your reference to slightly old audio tech made me smile. Yesterday, my 16 year-old dragged the old VHS player out of the attic so he could watch the original Star Wars trilogy on his 14" portable CRT telly... complete with tracking lines and inherent fuzziness. Oh no, I just remembered that he also sports a stripy T-shirt on occasion. Keep typing!
