Welcome to Room 101.Or actually, a far nicer place -- the typosphere.Typecasting is inexhaustible. Not only are there practically endless details to be explored about typewriters, but the typewriter is a machine that can write not just about itself, but about literally anything human beings can see, imagine, remember, desire, or construct. You've already published a unique and interesting typecast. I look forward to more.
Thank you for the welcome, Richard. Maybe it was a little harsh to say that there would be a Room 101, or that the typewriter as subject was getting a little 'old', which, now that I think about it, and what you have said isn't true at all. Typewriter: the immortal machine of all time, of all subjects?I just now hope that I try and keep up with the "unique and interesting" side of things, and still have the inspiration (because maybe that's all that's needed) to write more. Thanks again.
Welcome to the Typosphere! Also, post pictures of your typewriters. Typewriter Porn is appreciated by all :D
Oh, must have been forgetting the required typewriter porn. The kind of stuff with erect carriage return levers and voluminous carriages?
Dear Teenager with a Typewriter (I feel a T-shirt design coming on), despite what Ted says, I think photos would spoil the clean lines of your current layout. Try not to worry about popularity or carving a niche. Just sit down and do what you do and do it for yourself. Welcome to the Typosphere.
You know, Jasper, as soon as your finger hits a key, and that key propels a typeslug forward to hit a page rolled around a platen with an unmistakable "thwack!", that's when you know you're in the Typosphere. Welcome, and keep writing.
If you have even the faintest inkling of what the Typosphere is, you are already a card-carrying member. That is the wonderful thing about this online community; there is no orthodoxy. The only requirement is the aforementioned typewriter. I see you have one. Welcome to the Typosphere. I cannot wait to see more of your blog.
Welcome! I agree with Ryan. You have posted your first typecast, you are hereby declared a member of the Typosphere. It is indeed a mellow place and the fellow aspirants even put up with blogs that don't always feature typewriters. As noted above, typewriter porn is appreciated. Before and after cleaning shots are especially saucy. One of my daughters is your age and writes a lot, but has not fallen in love with the typewriter. She had a serious case of "like" for a blue Olympia, but that passed with the beginning of the school year.
